What feels like a millennia ago, 2018, Microsoft decided to operationally commence a project where it submerged 864 servers underwater. A couple of goals included reducing energy consumption and reducing failure rates. Both of which were successful.

Even as a professional in the ITAD industry, something in the video and various articles stuck out. Microsoft included sustainability as a forward point as part of the project. To the company, the recyclability of the equipment is of critical importance to the success of the project.
Kudos to Microsoft for being mindful of sustainability, where many tend to be reactive.
